Valenzuela's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

24-year old swingman Juan Valenzuela (191-F/G-97) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Santiago Fenix and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had a double-double of 33 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Del Patio (#3, 1-1) 127-112. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Santiago Fenix maintains the 2nd position in Dominican Rep. league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Santiago Fenix won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Valenzuela just recently signed at Santiago Fenix and it was his first game, where he immediately became new team's leader. Valenzuela has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 33.0ppg. Valenzuela is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 10.0rpg).

Second best performed player last round was Victor Liz (193-SG-86) of Capitanes. He is a guard in his first season at Capitanes. In the last game Liz recorded impressive 33 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Capitanes was edged by Immortals (2-0) 99-97. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Liz is one of the most experienced players at Capitanes and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 33.0ppg (#2). He also registered 5.0 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another Capitanes' star - Adris Rodriguez (202-C/F-82). Rodriguez scored 12 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Rodriguez's great performance Capitanes lost 97-99 to Immortals (#1, 2-0). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Capitanes can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. Rodriguez has individually a great season in Dominican Republic. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 15.5rpg (#1 in league).
